The voting for the Head Students for 2020 was conducted today, attended by the Year 3 – 6 classes. Students in Year 5 who wanted to nominate themselves for the role presented persuasive speeches to the audience of students and parents. Miss Hall coordinated the voting system on line this year and after listening to the speeches students in these classes headed back to class to vote for their preferred candidates. The results of the two Head Students for 2020 will be announced at the Year 6 Graduation Mass next Thursday evening.
Thank you to all who attended the Annual General Meeting last Tuesday evening to hear the Board and P&F Reports for the 2019 school year. These Reports will be placed up on the website this week for the community to access. We welcome and congratulate two new Board members, Grant Blake and Robert Pala to the School Board for 2020. At the same time we once again thank Sarah Waddle and Andrew Durkin for their four years of dedicated service to the School Community through their roles on the School Board. Given there was, to name a few: a principal appointment, a rebuild programme and the New Build Opening this year their roles were certainly demanding of their time.
School Reports for our Pre Primary to Year 6 students will be accessible for you early next week on SEQTA Engage but we will send you a message to confirm the day and time of uploading once all editing has been achieved. As I’ve said in previous years please don’t hesitate to let us know if we have inadvertently left a ‘he’ in instead of a ‘she’ or a name misspelling, etc. The reason we like to send them out by the Monday or Tuesday is to give you time to touch base with your child’s teacher should you have any queries about the report content.
Our end of year Thanksgiving Mass will be held in the church at 2pm tomorrow afternoon. At this mass we thank God for the students, staff and parents in our community and in particular our Year 6 class and departing staff. Immediately after the mass there will be a social gathering held in the Multi Purpose Room therefore the use of the Outdoor Learning Area for ‘pick up’ after school may prove to be a little crowded. It may be a good idea to arrange to meet your child in the Year 6 Undercovered Area just for this Wednesday.
I may see you at tomorrow’s mass but if that is not possible certainly hope to see you at Thursday evening’s Christmas Concert.

Children’s Christmas Eve Mass & Nativity Tableau
As most of you will know the school’s church The Immaculate Heart of Mary will be holding a Christmas Eve service which will include a Christmas Nativity tableau representing the Gospel reading.
As such we are requesting parents of children from Kindy up to Yr 6 whose child(ren) would like to take part to please let us know.
There are many parts that need to be filled. All are non speaking and costumes will be provided.
We also need children for the choir, altar attendants and to read the mass.
Please let either Toni Tomlin or Liz Hill know by no later than Friday 13th Dec if you wish to be a part of the mass or nativity scene within the children’s Christmas Eve mass. The service will be held from 5.30pm on 24th December for approximately 1 hour with Carols commencing at 5pm.
