Welcome to Year 2

Veggie Patch to Pie

The Year Two students picked the spinach from our school veggie patch and made spinach and cheese tarts. Mrs Harney and Mrs Menchetti kindly helped out in the kitchen. We shared our tarts with our Year Four Buddies and Year Sixes.
They had so much fun harvesting, making and eating the tarts.

Morning Activities

Year two students are warming up their minds and bodies ready for the day.

Pop Stick Challenge

Ms Rodi set us a challenge.  Could we figure out how many pop sticks were in the container … and just then she accidentally dropped them on the floor .. whoops!  By making groups of tens we figured out that there was 747 popsticks on the floor!

Smartie Maths

In Year two Maths we have learned how to graph and sort information.
We followed the following steps to identify the most popular smartie colour, using our own packet of smarties.

1.Sort smarties into colour groups.
2.Tally and record results.
3.Graph data.
4.Summarise results and observations.

In case you were wondering … purple is the most popular coloured smartie.
